South Australia is full of amazing local producers, retailers and suppliers – and just a few of them are set to appear on your screens this week with the launch of I Choose SA‘s new video.
Locally-owned company Lenswood Apples are proud to be involved, with two of their apple growers, father and daughter Graeme and Renee Green, filmed on location in the Lenswood orchard for the ad.
Lenswood Apples chief executive James Walters says the co-operative is proud to be associated with other iconic South Australian brands.
“We jumped at the chance to feature in the new iChooseSA campaign as we wanted more South Australians to appreciate the massive role our apple growers not only play in our local economy, but also on the world stage,” he says.
“Biting into a Lenswood apples not only keeps you healthy, it keeps South Australia strong.”
Lenswood have a network of 25 local family businesses growing apples, growing 70 per cent of the state’s apple crop across the state’s pristine agricultural land in the Riverland, the Adelaide Hills and the Limestone Coast.
They join 33 other South Australian businesses in the video, showing just some of the people who are impacted by your decision when you buy local.
From industries as diverse as fashion design to fruit picking, glass blowing to brewing, the video encourages South Australians to choose local products and services – helping them to grow and create more jobs in the state.

I Choose SA campaign manager Alice Boorman says we have the power to make a significant difference with our purchase decisions, for both the future of the state and for local jobs.
“The I Choose SA campaign supports producers, growers, manufacturers, service providers and businesses throughout the supply chain to increase jobs across the state,” Alice says.
“We want all South Australians to realise the power they have each time they make a purchase or choose a service.
“We’re excited for our new I Choose SA TV ad to hit screens. We think it will really resonate with audiences and show the many people who are impacted each time we choose SA.”
It’s a message that the local company who filmed the video also believes in.
It has been a labour for the KOJO team, who spent many hours over a three-week period, criss-crossing the state from Wingfield to McLaren Vale, Norwood to Myponga, meeting and filming with locals.
Matt Byrne, executive producer at KOJO says the project was a chance to work with local talent and meet SA workers face to face.
“For KOJO, this project was as much an opportunity as it was a pleasure to work with local actors Aime Guerin and Georgia Ryan, as well as local composer Oliver Dowie who created an original piece of music for the short film and TVC,” he says.
“We were fortunate to meet many amazing people across the various industry sectors from dairy farmers to jewellery makers, and we were left with the impression that this fair state of ours is home to many talented and passionate people who all contribute daily to making South Australia a great place to work and live.”
