The fifth annual Wagner’s Rose Nursery Open Day will be held in April, showcasing a slice of its 50 acres of rose production in the heart of the Limestone Coast’s Kalangadoo region. Wagner’s is one of Australia’s largest and longest running rose nurseries.
Planned around the Nursery’s peak flowering season, the Open Day provides visitors with the chance to see over 600 varieties of roses in full bloom and to sneak a peek at the new 2017 rose releases. A large selection of yearling and two year old rose bushes and standards will be in flower, and throughout the day owner Brian Wagner will provide tips on pruning and planting new roses.
Coffee and a selection of food options will be available, along with local producers of cider and wine. Local producers Kalangadoo Organic Orchards will also be offering their apple cider and other goods for sale.
A selection of potted plants and bunches of roses will be available for sale. There will be entertainment and a jumping castle for young children, and all proceeds from the day will go toward Penola Primary School.
